With approximately 14,000 acres of grapes, Pennsylvania ranks 4th nationally in the amount of grapes grown (including juice grapes). The state also ranks 8th in the production of wine.
In our area, we have the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail in the southeastern corner of Pennsylvania. The fertile farmlands, rich in shale and limestone and favored with a moderated climate, provide an ideal growing environment for vineyards of both traditional Vinifera wine grapes and Native American grapes
