1888. William ROBBINS27 was born in 1651 in Scotland. He died on
Aug 18, 1725 in Walpole, Norfolk, MA. Ref.Compendive Am Genealogy
and Ref.Institute Am.Genealogy, Chicago, Ill is referenced:
"Came from England to Reading, Mass. Enlisted in Capt. Wm Turner's Company
under command of Maj.Jere Swain, Feb. 22, 1675-1676 and served in King Phillip's
War. He received after the war a tract of land in the "Nipmuc" country,
a section in a township eight miles square, granted by the General Court of Massachusetts
on June 3, 1685. Meanwhile he had married at Reading, July 2, 1680, Priscilla,
daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Brock) Gowan; she was probably born at Wenham
whither her father had removed from Denham, his first New England home; her mother
was the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Barber) Brock of Denham. They resided
at Lynnfield a while then removed to the part of Dedham which was afterwards
set off at Walpole. He died there in August - August 18, 1725. He was born in
1650. His wife, Priscilla Gowan, born probably in Wenham, died March 5, 1745."
