I wonder if your "huge Wanton genealogy book" could find Zebulon Wanton, born around 1730 or so in Newport RI, married in 1759 to Elizabeth Hastings. Their daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) married Jenkes Perkins in 1785. They named a son Zebulon Wanton Perkins. Zebulon Wanton is as far back as we can trace the family although family tradition has it that there is a relationship, somewhere in there, to the governors Wanton of RI. Any help would be much appreciated.
