Central New York Vacation June 24-27, 2004
We've been thinking about visiting the Corning Glass Museum for the last ten years, so we finally set aside time for it. After work Wednesday 6/23, we drove up to Elmira and stayed in a Holiday Inn so we'd be close to our destination. We spent half a day at the Museum ... and we could have spent a lot more time there! We never imagined the history and the art involved in glass making. They have a great demonstration and hands-on experiences are available if you have time. Corning is a quaint small town with lots of little shops and friendly people. We had lots of reasons to stay, but the call of the wineries beckoned, so we forced ourselves to break away to head north into wine country.
